What I did?
I just upgraded Yahoo messenger 8.1 as requested by software
What it did?
It installed yahoo toolbar without asking
It set Yahoo.com as homepage without asking, it didn’t honored my existing homepage
It modified my preferences without asking.
Even a lot of people are complaining about the same DAMN toolbar. Here are a few:

The approach yahoo is choosing to publicize its tool is against software distridution laws and should be condemned. What say?

Yahoo is the curse of the Net.
It must be run by criminals.
Some of its crap always apearing on your Computer – source unknown?
Do not ever subscribe to any Yahoo service.
I did once believing it to be a reputable Company and then could not Log On.
At least 20 Emails to Support – there registerd Australian Office – letter posted also – and they still kept deducting the money from my Credit Card.
I had to cancel the Card to get it stopped.
I was then talking to one of our Major Banks here.
The Manager said they are one of our worst offenders in this way. We get a few other fly by night types but to have a supposedly reputable organisation acting in this way is not expected.
WHEN ARE THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE COUNTRIES WHERE THEY ARE BASED and can take action GOING TO DO SOMETING ABOUT THIS SUPPOSEDLY REPUTABLE COMPANY.
It amazes me how plenty of still want to put them on your Computer.
Once they get on once they always seem to be back. I would love to know where the Yahoo Toolbar on Acrobat Reader came from. I hope Adobe is not in with them.
I can put up with the other smaller shonks out there but how Yahoo still survives with its predatory and what must be illegal actions is beyond me. Where the hell is the Parent Company based? In the USA. Please do something or someone write up a specialist Yahoo Virus Protection Program – I would use it – one Program just to keep Yahoo off my Computer. I am certain some of it is imbedded in very legitimate Downloads we make. Idiot organisations letting Yahoo put there crap in with there Downloads with no declarations to warn you. I just got one now – I am positive I got it with a PDF filke I downloaded from a Respected Company. They are insidious.
