Knowledge App Development Framework for Smartphones
Supervised by Dr T V Prabhakar
I built an Android framework that helps end users and application developers create domain-specific knowledge apps from Linked Data. The framework uses Semantic Web standards and RDF to capture semantics, retrieve facts, and infer triples, extending what users can do beyond browsing and managing content.
The work demonstrates two use cases and describes a framework that scales to large datasets.

Portable Hindi Editor
Type Hindi phonetically using English letters and see it appear in Hindi. I built this before Google transliteration became popular, using legacy Hindi fonts rather than Unicode. Includes an on-screen keyboard, multiple input methods, and rich-text editing. The downloadable ZIP contains a Windows executable that uses a keyboard hook and works on old Windows systems only.
I also built a browser-based version that converts English keystrokes into Unicode Hindi, with a key guide and examples. Try online version ↗
A text-mode game built in Turbo C++. One of my first C/C++ projects. I still remember printing ten pages of its source code on my dot-matrix printer. I have not been able to find the source since; only the compiled game survives. Built for DOS text mode, it does not run natively on modern Windows, macOS, or Linux systems; a DOS emulator is needed.
My first tutorial, published in 2003, explored Unicode to customize Windows XP labels, menus, and filenames in Hindi and other Indian languages. It became popular enough to earn me money from ads, an early taste of building something useful on the web.
